WWE Hall of Famer, Mark Henry showered a SmackDown star with praise following his performance on the blue brand last Friday. He urged the creative department, led by Triple H, to give that superstar a shot to become a top guy.
Last Friday, Andrade challenged LA Knight for the United States Championship on the blue brand. Although he failed to capture the title, his performance impressed the World's Strongest Man. On the Busted Open podcast, the latter claimed the Mexican star could become one of the top guys in the Stamford-based company.
Henry sent a direct message to Andrade, stating that he respected him, dubbing the former United States Champion a "super wrestler," who was "beyond elite."
"Andrade, I respect you, gangster. I saw who you are. He's beyond elite. He is a super wrestler. I told Denise that he's one of those guys that sometimes you scrap everything and you say, 'You know what? Imma just give it a year. Imma give it one year, Imma see if he can be Eddie Guerrero. Imma give it one year, Imma see if he can be Kurt Angle.' Because I think that Andrade can be," he said. [32:48 - 33:19]
The World's Strongest Man pointed out that the Stamford-based company invested time and took chances on stars like Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle, which paid off as they became legends in the business. He urged WWE's creative department to do the same with El Idolo.
"I think Andrade is one of those guys. Give him a shot. If somebody ever gets hurt, and they're in the spot where they're like 'Da*n, we're scrambling. We need something,' boom, plug him in. He deserves it, he paid his dues, and he is good. He's so good that he makes average wrestlers look good. What is he gonna do against great wrestlers?" wondered Henry. [34:16 - 34:42]
Mark Henry praised Andrade for his reaction to LA Knight's botch on WWE SmackDown
During the United States Championship match between Andrade and LA Knight, the latter botched a spot where he was supposed to jump to the top rope and take his opponents to the mat. The Megastar slipped twice on the ropes before the challenger pushed him down.
On the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry explained how Andrade intelligently improvised to save the match. He claimed the way the Mexican star reacted showed his quality as a wrestler.
"There was a point where LA Knight went to do the springboard up to the top and flip Andrade back into the ring and it got jangled up. Like, he kept missing the ropes twice. The ropes were slick. But in that moment, Imma tell you how good Andrade is, Andrade communicated by action: 'I'mma knock you down and then I'mma come off, I'm gonna miss, you move outta the way and put myself in position,' the same position that he would've been in so him and LA Knight could go into the thing. That was all communication on the fly," he said.
In an interview with WWE's social media, LA Knight later claimed his "tired legs" were the reason why he botched the move. Meanwhile, he praised Andrade's performance. It would be interesting to see if the two WWE Superstars would share the ring again soon.
