Social media provides the WWE Universe with a unique look into the real lives of various performers. Fans in the modern era have access to some talents and their families, celebrations, personal moments, and the like. One legendary multi-time champion has just publicly shared a tribute to the man who helped give him life.
William Regal is widely regarded as one of the greatest minds in all of pro wrestling. The 41-year veteran began training at age 15 and went on to have legendary runs with WCW and WWE. Regal has stated that his father was a working-class builder who once hoped he would run the family business one day. However, the four-time WCW TV Champion knew he wanted to be a pro wrestler since he was a kid.
The Blackpool Brawler was introduced to wrestling by his grandfather, who he grew up with because Regal's father built a second home on their property. He also built a makeshift wrestling ring from timber and blankets in the backyard so that his son could begin training. The 13-time WWE champion took to X today to remember his father on his birthday.
"I’ve had a charmed [life]. Having the nicest, most hard working, courageous, patient, polite, generous Dad ( I’ve been told I take after my Grandad who was a bit of a rogue) was a bonus. Happy Birthday Pop. I miss and love you," William Regal wrote with the photo below.

Regal returned to World Wrestling Entertainment in January 2023 after one year with AEW. The Man's Man is currently working behind the scenes as the Vice President of Global Talent Development.
WWE NXT storyline update on William Regal's son
The No Quarter Catch Crew of WWE NXT is down a man. Damon Kemp is departing the company and was recently written out of the storylines.
NQCC is led by Charlie Dempsey, the son of William Regal. The other two members are Myles Borne and Tavion Heights after WWE officials released Kemp by letting his contract expire. He was written out of the storylines during a recent NXT episode.
While no creative plans for new members have been confirmed, fans have speculated that the storyline twist may lead to Regal joining The No Quarter Catch Crew as some sort of mentor. This is especially interesting after officials recently discussed Regal for a major storyline return.
Regal received a conditional release from AEW at the end of 2022 so that he could return to work with his son behind the scenes in NXT, but he was not allowed to appear on TV for one year. He returned to TV this past January to name Ava as the new NXT General Manager and then appeared at Roadblock in March as his son celebrated his Heritage Cup victory.
