WWE has now officially confirmed a huge change to the name of a tag team after their return to RAW this week. The stars had been waiting for months for their return.

On RAW, Alpha Academy made their way out to the ring for the first-round match of the Tag Team Championship Tournament announced by Adam Pearce. The stars were not certain who they'd be facing, as it was not announced prior to the match. The commentators were not certain who their opponents would be either, but as it turned out, it was the returning force of The Viking Raiders.

Except WWE made one big change to them. Instead of the Viking Raiders, they were now the War Raiders, which was closer to their original name—the War Machine. The company had changed the team's name previously due to controversy surrounding it with regards to sharing it with that of an MMA fighter.

On NXT, they were known as the War Raiders, but when they debuted on RAW in 2019, their name was changed to The Viking Experience and, later, The Viking Raiders. Finally, the company has altered their own rule of not including war in their name, and has gone back to the name they had during their NXT Days.

WWE has now officially confirmed it is their name once again. The commentators said they were back down as a stripped-down version of themselves and were more savage than before. They made an impact on their return, defeating the Alpha Academy.
