A non-WWE star has expressed a desire for a potential showdown against CM Punk. There has been some lingering tension between the star and Shawn Michaels after the latest episode of NXT.
The name in question is none other than Joe Hendry, who appeared on the June 18, 2024, episode of the white and gold brand. The 36-year-old TNA star made his presence felt on the NXT brand as a part of a collaboration between the two wrestling companies.
Hendry took part in the 25-man Battle Royal, which was held to decide the next challenger for Trick Williams' NXT Title. However, 24 men teamed up together to eliminate the TNA star. The Prestigious One was upset with how things went down and threw a bit of a fit at The Heartbreak Kid backstage for poor booking.
In a recent appearance on the Gabby AF podcast, Joe Hendry mentioned he would like to work with CM Punk following the crossover between WWE and TNA promotions. The 36-year-old star said he previously had a word with The Second City Saint and the latter had seemingly agreed to share the ring down the line.

"I am going to throw out one other name: CM Punk. So, CM Punk and I didn't talk on the phone, but we have spoken, and I told him, 'I admire his work, and I hope that we cross paths one day,'" Hendry added. [9:23 - 9:57]

CM Punk costs major WWE star the World Heavyweight Championship again
At Clash at the Castle 2024, Drew McIntyre clashed with Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship in Scotland. In the final moments of the match, the referee was out cold, and The Scottish Warrior delivered his finisher on The Judgment Day member.
However, Punk appeared in the ring with a WWE referee shirt and made only two counts during the pinfall. The 45-year-old star then delivered a low blow to Drew McIntyre, allowing The Archer of Infamy to retain his championship.
On this week's Monday Night RAW, The Scottish Warrior came out to the ring and said, "S***w this company, I quit," before exiting the building. Only time will tell if McIntyre returns to WWE and the company sets up a massive potential showdown for SummerSlam against CM Punk.
