The WWE roster is unfortunately forced to deal with the grueling travel schedule, which is a well-known part of the pro wrestling industry. Luckily, today's talents have more resources when it comes to overall health, and the full-time schedule is not as brutal as it once was. New details have surfaced on a certain RAW star missing time after a recent trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Jackie Redmond stays busy. The 37-year-old works for WWE's RAW brand as an interviewer and Countdown host, while also covering NHL for TNT Sports, and for the NHL Network. While having an experience of more than a decade in broadcasting, the Canadian joined WWE in October 2021 and has also worked as a host on various shows. She first joined RAW in June 2023.
Redmond recently missed the November 11, 2024, episode of RAW from Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which she announced ahead of time. This was one week after she worked the Crown Jewel weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The WWE Universe was bound to speculate on Redmond's absence, and now she has revealed the reason. While speaking to GabbyAF, the former RAW Talk host noted that she took that week off for a mental health break as she felt burnout approaching. Redmond returned from Saudi Arabia, worked the NHL game of the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings in Chicago on Wednesday, November 6, and then took a break. Jackie was asked how she was doing with all she's got going on.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I am really good. I actually have this week off. I have learned over the course of my career to take care of my mental health and know — I can tell now when burnout is coming and so I strategically plan, kind of, when I’m gonna take a day here or a day there so I wasn’t on RAW this week for that reason. I knew coming off of Saudi Arabia, I would be fried and I did a hockey game right afterwards so I’m glad I took the time. I’m really good right now. I’ve slept in my own bed like five nights in a row which is outrageous for me," Jackie Redmond said. [H/T POST Wrestling]
Redmond apparently will not be back on RAW until November 25, 2024, as next week's show of the red brand was taped this past Monday. She will also host the Countdown to Survivor Series: WarGames pre-show on November 30, 2024.
