WWE star Carmelo Hayes qualified for the 2024 Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match by pinning Randy Orton. The star was ecstatic after the win on SmackDown.
Hayes competed in a Triple Threat contest against Randy Orton and Tama Tonga to secure a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The three-way bout was full of interferences. At one point, Kevin Owens came out to neutralize Tonga Loa. Meanwhile, Melo used the opportunity to roll up The Viper for a massive win.
WWE correspondent Kayla Braxton caught up with Hayes on The SmackDown Lowdown. The star mentioned that it was a huge moment for him to pin Randy Orton. Hayes claimed that after the victory, he should adopt the "Legend Killer" moniker made famous by the 14-time World Champion.
"Yeah, I did pin Randy Orton. But come on Kayla, what did you expect? I'm Him. He is a 14-time champ, [a] legend killer. Maybe I should start calling myself a legend killer." [0:09 - 0:17]
Randy Orton had a tough night on SmackDown
The action didn't end there for The Apex Predator of WWE. He was seen again during the match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.
Rhodes faced Sikoa in a singles match in the main event. Just minutes into the encounter, The Bloodline jumped the Undisputed WWE Champion, bringing the contest to a close via disqualification.
As the faction ganged up on The American Nightmare, Orton and Kevin Owens rushed out to even the odds. They cleared the ring and singled out Sikoa. However, the new Tribal Chief had a backup in the form of the debuting Jacob Fatu.
The Samoan Werewolf showed up and destroyed the babyface trio with ease. He first took out Owens and Orton before hitting a massive Splash on Rhodes on the announcers' desk. With this, The Bloodline sent a strong message that it was more dangerous than ever now.
