John Cena will retire from WWE next year after competing in some more matches. Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff now believes The Leader of the Cenation should put over rising superstar Bron Breakker in his retirement match.
At Money in the Bank, Cena announced that he would hang up his boots in 2025. Meanwhile, he clarified that he would have one last run throughout next year, during which he would compete at Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41.
Many have been speculating about Cena's potential opponents during his final stint as an in-ring competitor. Meanwhile, Eric Bischoff has claimed the 47-year-old should end his wrestling career by losing to Bron Breakker.
On his 83 Weeks podcast, the former RAW general manager suggested that Cena start his "retirement tour" by facing superstars from his past before squaring off against up-and-coming talents. He proposed that, in the end, The Leader of the Cenation could put over who WWE viewed as the next top guy, which he believed should be Breakker.

"I would start out with people from John's past. That's where I'd start for the nostalgia, right? And to let the story and the momentum and the whole idea of John Cena's retirement continue to build. (...) And then you start working into [sic] the younger, hungrier, up-and-coming talent. And let John have them all. Build that momentum. Build that momentum. And then, whoever the next big deal is going to be, Bron Breakker. (...) I'd let Bron beat him. Have John put him over one, two, three. And knowing John, it's probably what he'll want to do, whether it's Bron or somebody else. He's not gonna want to go out with a win," Bischoff said. [3:08 - 4:19]
Many believe Cody Rhodes has become the global juggernaut's top guy since dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Champion. Meanwhile, Breakker has been quickly rising through the ranks on RAW.
John Cena could compete in several massive matches before retiring from WWE
On an episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts discussed the potential opponents for John Cena in the latter's last run as an active superstar.
The 40-year-old said The Leader of the Cenation could have a third match against The Rock. Rocky and Cena exchanged victories at WrestleMania over a decade ago. Roberts also pointed out that the 16-time World Champion could square off against his former rival, CM Punk, or even Gunther.
"We could do another Cena/Rock. We could do another Cena/Punk. We could do Cena/Gunther," he said.
Roberts also proposed that Cena lose to The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio before retiring from in-ring competition. It would be interesting to see if the 47-year-old legend would cross paths with any of these suggested names.
