WWE has provided an update after their earlier announcement about Cody Rhodes' injuries. The update came on WWE RAW.
After Saturday Night's Main Event, Cody Rhodes didn't get a chance to celebrate his win over Kevin Owens. KO hit him with a package piledriver, sending him off to the hospital, while Triple H got furious and nearly exchanged blows with the former Universal Champion.
WWE provided an update stating that Rhodes had suffered a cervical spine injury, as a result of which he had been kept in the local hospital for observation after the event. Now, there's a further update.
On WWE RAW, Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett addressed Rhodes' injuries and confirmed everything the promotion had said about the star. They added a further update: Rhodes had been released from the hospital and was now home and resting.
With Rhodes now home, it's still unclear when he will return. His back injury may make it take some time for him to appear. Given the seriousness of such issues, fans may have to wait sometime to see the WWE Champion.
In the meantime, they have replaced him for major shows.
