WWE SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis finally reveals if he will wrestle again

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis has done a wonderful job running the blue brand since he was appointed last October 13. However, fans are still interested in seeing Aldis wrestle, and he has opened up about its possibility.

The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion has not wrestled since his match at the ACW Bluegrass Con on October 7, 2023. He started working as a producer for WWE last August. Aldis is just 37 years old, making him younger than most top stars in the company, such as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins.

In a recent interview with the Gorilla Position podcast, Aldis was asked about the chances of him wrestling again and making his in-ring WWE debut.

"It's not something I have any control or influence over. It's very much a case of, when Paul [Triple H] and I first started speaking, I made it very clear that 'I want to be part of the team and contribute in whatever way you think is best.' If, at some point, [getting in the ring] is best then great. The GM conversation was the shortest conversation of my career. Bruce [Prichard] called me, 'General Manager of SmackDown.' 'Great, when do I start?' They laid out the terms and money, 'All sounds great. Let's do it.' Immediately, I said to my wife [Mickie James], 'I'm going to try and be the best GM of all time.' During his term as general manager of SmackDown, Nick Aldis has only been physical once when Randy Orton hit him with an RKO out of nowhere.

Nick Aldis felt betrayed he was not informed about AEW's inception sooner

Some people might forget that the original All In event in 2018 was headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Nick Aldis for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. There were already plans to start AEW at that point, but Aldis felt betrayed when he wasn't informed sooner.

"I think in this business, if you start playing the comparison game, you can really go down a rabbit hole of bitterness and resentment very quickly. I felt a little bit betrayed when I found out that they were all familiar, they were all aware of Tony Khan and they'd been sort of plotting this thing [AEW]," Aldis said to Inside The Ropes. While Cody Rhodes became an international star in AEW and WWE, Nick Aldis seemingly didn't get the same recognition, although he remained a household name in pro wrestling. The National Treasure re-signed with NWA before moving to TNA Wrestling and ending up in the global juggernaut.
