Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell spoke about Baron Corbin showing up on SmackDown this week. The star was featured in a tag team match on the blue brand.
Corbin teamed up with Apollo Crews to take on Angel and Humberto of Legado del Fantasma. The two tandems gave it their all in the ring. However, both Santos Escobar and Elektra Lopez interfered during the match, allowing Garza to hit the Wing Clipper on Crews for the win.
During this week's episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell pointed out that the show fell off the rails after Baron Corbin showed up. he felt the star was boring and lacked charisma.
"It went downhill from there when Corbin went out there. Corbin would put a crackhead to sleep, believe me." [2:48 onwards]
During the same conversation, the former manager acknowledged that Corbin managed to get a response from the crowd. He pointed out that the 39-year-old star has been with the company for a long time and some WWE fans naturally gravitated towards him.
"Hell, he ought to have some people with him. He's been there since the end of the Vietnam War. He's been there forever. He should have some people behind him." [3:14 onwards]
It will be interesting to see if WWE has some plans with Barin Corbin or if this was a one-off appearance for the star.
