WWE had decided to split up a popular tag team tonight, after trading one member to SmackDown.

After Jey Uso had a spat with The Bloodline, he seemingly quit SmackDown and the WWE. However, Cody Rhodes pulled some strings, and got Jey traded over to Monday Night RAW.

Since arriving on RAW, Jey's career as taken off, and he has done well for himself. In fact, he formed a tag team with Cody Rhodes, and they are now the current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. However, this trade meant that one superstar had to be traded to SmackDown.

Tonight on the blue brand, Triple H showed up to make a couple of announcements. He promoted Adam Pearce to General Manager of RAW and named Nick Aldis as the General Manager of SmackDown. Dominik Mysterio, however, interrupted the segment before Triple H could announce Aldis as the SmackDown GM.

But there was still one more announcement to be made. Aldis announced that Kevin Owens was now traded to SmackDown. Owens then came out and hit the stunner on Dominik. With Owens now traded to SmackDown, it means that he will have to split up from his tag team partner, Sami Zayn.

It will be interesting to see what this means for both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens' future.

What do you make of Kevin Owens being drafted to SmackDown? Sound off in the comments section below.
