WWE Superstars are not immune to botches, in the ring and on the mic. These mishaps are an unfortunate part of pro wrestling. Recently, a popular star opened up on a viral botch, which brought heat from fans and colleagues.

A recent WWE SmackDown episode saw Kayla Braxton conduct a backstage interview with LA Knight, who put United States Champion Logan Paul on notice. Carmelo Hayes interrupted and the two stars had words. Carmelo referred to Logan as "LA," and The Megastar immediately called Hayes out for the botch, telling him he needed to get people's names right. The exchange wrapped up soon after with a tease for a future match.

The Megastar then defeated the former NXT Champion in their first-ever singles match the following Friday. Hayes addressed the botched promo in a new interview with CBS Sports' Shakiel Mahjouri. The 29-year-old said he delivered the line so quickly, without really thinking about it, and still didn't realize the mistake when Knight called him out mid-sentence.

"I did it so quickly, not even thinking about it. I didn't even notice I did it. ... You know, you're looking at somebody and you're thinking of somebody else, I do it all the time. People were roasting me as if I'd made a huge mistake," Carmelo Hayes said.

Hayes was informed of the mistake by a bystander after the promo. He gave Knight praise for being quick and on top of things, noting that they laughed about the mishap. The former NXT North American Champion acknowledged that he is not perfect, and no one is, adding that everything was cool moving forward, despite the roastings.
