WWE star loses first major title challenge just weeks after blockbuster return

WWE is hosting NXT Heatwave tonight, and a young star pulled off an impressive move during a title challenge. Unfortunately, she ended up losing the bout.

Ever since her debut in NXT, Sol Ruca has turned a lot of heads with her athletic prowess. She has established herself as one of the most athletic women in all of WWE. However, she is still yet to win a singles title despite being popular with fans.

Sol Ruca spent the better part of the last few months on the shelf due to an injury she suffered. However, she returned from her injury better than ever. She even put on a good performance in the ladder match to crown the first-ever NXT Women's North American Champion, which was eventually won by Kelani Jordan.

When Kelani won the title, she offered a title match to Sol Ruca at NXT Heatwave. Both women put on a stellar back-and-forth contest. During the match, Ruca showed her athleticism by hitting a springboard 450 lariat on the champion.

The move was reminiscent of former AEW World Champion 'Hangman' Adam Page's famous Buckshot Lariat, which Logan Paul has also used a few times in WWE. However, Sol Ruca added to the maneuver, making it a springboard leap and adding extra rotation. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough for her to win the match, as Jordan retained the title with the split-legged moonsault.

Kelani Jordan was impressive in her title defense. It will be interesting to see who will be next in line to challenge her for the title.
