Lexis King debuted in NXT as a promising prospect, and so far, he has blown hot and cold. There are moments when he has had some really notable wins, and there are moments when he has suffered embarrassing losses. A good example is his recent loss to Dante Chen.
King has the habit of getting himself into sticky situations due to his cocky attitude. In recent weeks, he has had run-ins with Eddy Thorpe, which resulted in a match being set up for tonight's episode of NXT.

During the match, both men gave it their all in an even contest. King came close to winning when he went for the coronation, but Eddy Thorpe reversed it to pick up the win.
This loss didn't sit well with King, and he ambushed Thorpe from behind. He then placed Eddy's hand between the steel steps and the ring post and smashed his cane into it, seemingly injuring his opponent's hand in the process.

It remains to be seen what condition Eddy Thorpe's hand is in after tonight's assault by Lexis King.
