Oba Femi has been an impressive star since his debut in NXT in 2022. He has dominated his opponents in the ring. Although he lost a few house show matches and NXT Level Up matches, Oba had never lost a televised match. Hence, it wasn't surprising when Oba Femi won the Breakout tournament and cashed in to become NXT North American Champion.
Since becoming the champ, Oba Femi continued to showcase his dominance against anyone who challenged him for his title. However, he faced his toughest challenger, Tony D'Angelo, at NXT No Mercy 2024 but still came out on top. This loss deeply hurt Tony's confidence, but he regained it thanks to the D'Angelo Family's support.

Tonight on WWE NXT, Tony D'Angelo got another shot at the North American Championship, and he wasn't going to let it slip out of his hands this time as he brought the fight to Oba. He did everything, including putting Femi through a table, to beat him. In the end, Oba Femi went for his signature powerbomb, but Tony D'Angelo rolled him up for the win.
With this win, Tony D'Angelo ended Oba Femi's reign and is the new NXT North American Champion.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
