Since the beginning of 2024, WWE has collaborated with several other promotions. It is also seeing more appearances from top players from different sports, like NBA star Jalen Brunson and boxing champ Terence Crawford. Interestingly, the Stamford-based promotion has collaborated with Manchester City FC for a rare training segment.
The club was spotted training at the WWE Performance Center. Man City players Kalvin Phillips and Rico Lewis trained alongside NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, NXT North American Champ Oba Femi, Stevie Turner, Trick Williams, and Thea Hail.
Three more players from the English football club’s roster participated in the training segment overseen by trainer Robbie Brookside and referee Chip Danning. This rare spectacle is part of the ongoing merchandise collection collaboration between Manchester City and the Stamford-based promotion.

Man City and WWE have worked together on such projects in the past as well. Interestingly, while Roxanne Perez could be seen enjoying a training segment with Manchester City stars, she is also seriously working on a potential upcoming challenge.
Roxanne Perez sends a message to new talent joining WWE
The July 30, 2024, episode of NXT saw Roxanne Perez successfully defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Thea Hail. The Chase University member had come close to dethroning the champ but eventually fell to Roxy.
Following the match, however, The Prodigy aimed her crosshairs at recently signed Stephanie Vaquer and Japanese wrestling sensation Giulia.
“Like, I'll give Thea her respect 'cause she almost had me there, but realistically, everybody needs to stop worrying about everybody else around the world. Not Thea, not Giulia, not Stephanie. NXT is the best woman's division in the world, and this (NXT Women’s title) is on my shoulder, which means I am the best woman in the world. That's it. Good night,” said Perez.
Notably, The Prodigy answered the fans speculating that Stephanie Vaquer or Giulia may soon challenge her for her title. While the latter has yet to sign a deal with the Stamford-based promotion, Vaquer is already on board with one.
Roxy previously addressed the matter in an in-ring promo but has now sent a message after a satisfying title defense. It would be interesting to see if she encounters either of these stars in a match with her title on the line.
