WWE SmackDown Superstar Angel recently took to his social media account to praise NXT's environment. He also sent a message to the brand's creative head, Shawn Michaels.

Angel is a part of the Legado Del Fantasma stable on SmackDown. He joined the company in 2019 and is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion. On Tuesday, he competed in a 25-man Battle Royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Championship. While the 31-year-old failed to win the contest, he seemingly enjoyed performing on the white-and-gold show.

On X/Twitter, Angel wrote that NXT crowds were the best in the sports entertainment industry. He further highlighted how most stars loved performing on the Tuesday night show.

"The environment on @WWENXT is just unbelievable. I’ll say this, is the best crowd you’ll ever see on sports entertainment. Every superstar that step on that ring feels that adrenaline and wants to be there forever [emoji] @ShawnMichaels [emoji]," he tweeted.

WWE star Angel commented on being compared to fellow Mexican pro wrestlers

Angel is a third-generation pro wrestler. He is the grandson of the legendary El Ninja from Mexico. Over the years, the country has produced many prominent performers.

In an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Angel said comparing pro wrestlers wasn't fair, as each competitor had unique qualities. He mentioned that it was important to appreciate each wrestler for their skills. The former champion also spoke about Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero's legacy in the industry.

"I don't know if I like second part of things because they always compare you. When I first made my debut, it was here comes the next Eddie [Guerrero]. There is Santos Escobar and the same thing. Stop comparing the characters and enjoy who we are. Comparing characters is fun, but Eddie was Eddie. Nobody is going to be like Eddie. I'm the first Angel. He's the first Humberto. Everyone's unique. It's a matter of doing our thing and building our path."

It will be interesting to see whether the upstart will secure championship gold with his tag team partner, Berto, in WWE.
