WWE Superstar Chad Gable reflects on his decision to turn heel

WWE RAW Superstar Chad Gable recently opened up about his decision to turn heel. The Alpha Academy leader turned heel after failing to defeat Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship on an episode of RAW in Montreal, Canada.

Chad Gable once again faced defeat recently against Zayn at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event in Glasgow, Scotland. At the event, Otis walked out on his stablemate with Maxxine Dupri, leaving Gable unassisted, which Sami took advantage of and delivered a Helluva Kick to retain his IC Title.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Gorilla Position, the former RAW Tag Team Champion provided an insight into the evolution of his WWE character. Master Gable asserted how his babyface character became stagnant and that's when he executed the infamous heel turn in Montreal.

"A bit of both, it was organic in a sense that once it got rolling, we kind of...you never really know what's going to take off with our audience. But I will say the whole idea to turn heel was kind of my idea. I felt like I flatlined as a babyface somewhere around WrestleMania. I came up short against Gunther a few times. Came up short against Sami [Zayn]. At a certain point, something has to change, or people are not going to buy into you any further. I had the idea, 'Let's do it,'" Gable said.

The RAW Superstar also added how he has cherished the transition along the way and how he is comfortable in his persona to execute the role in the squared circle.

"I'm loving it more than ever. I think people see that too. If you even ask Otis or my wife or somebody, I think this is, like, the most real version of me, as scary as that might be. I think the comedy stuff helped me in a sense that, like, it got my foot in the door in a way like our audience, to let them take a peek that this guy is more than just a wrestler." Chad Gable shared a message following his heel turn soon after failing to defeat Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship on WWE RAW in Montreal, Canada.

While Zayn was celebrating his victory with his wife, Chad Gable hit the champion with a German Suplex and initiated his heel turn. Post the bout, Gable had taken to his X/Twitter and shared a lead with the fans.

The Alpha Academy member penned down how his upcoming days of being a heel have a lot of excitement in store for the fans.

"I can tell you who I am. But I can double the excitement by telling you who I am becoming," he wrote.

It would be exciting for the fans to see how Chad Gable progresses in his path of being a heel in the upcoming days ahead.
