Not many in WWE's current generation of stars can claim to have gained the upper hand over Randy Orton. However, Carmelo Hayes pinned the legend in a Triple Threat Match to mark a big moment in his career.
On the June 21 episode of SmackDown, Carmelo competed in a match with Randy Orton and Tama Tonga to decide who would be participating in the men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. While Randy seemed on the verge of victory, Carmelo was able to pull off a surprise to roll him up for a successful pin.
Speaking in an interview with Emily Mae for Sportskeeda Wrestling, Carmelo outlined how his life had changed because of his win.
"Ya I could tell you know, a lot of people looking at me a little different, in a good way. You know what I am saying? In a good way, lot of people outside you know, give me a little more credibility and respect as they should. Getting free food at the airports now, you know what I mean? These little you know, couple of little kids, they talking to me about it, and I told 'em spread the word, tell your little friends, so you know Toronto knows about it. It was a big deal, it was a big moment for me but you know, most importantly sometimes it's even being in the ring with Randy Orton, being a kid watching it is super cool. But to say I guess you know, I pinned Randy Orton. That's the cherry on top." [1:37 onwards]

Carmelo Hayes also spoke about Bron Breakker's WWE run
According to Carmelo Hayes, Bron Breakker cannot be controlled by anyone in WWE, even the General Manager Adam Pierce.
In the same interview with Emily Mae for Sportskeeda Wrestling, Carmelo Hayes stated that this was an effective way for NXT stars who were called up to the main WWE roster to get noticed.
"I love Bron, and I know Bron. And I know like you know, he's an animal. You can't control that. And I am super happy that he is taking things because you know I think that the key to our success is we are not waiting around for opportunities, Bron and myself. We are taking opportunities and I fully support that. Go ahead Bron, do your thing man." [0:50 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen how Bron Breakker's match at WWE Money in the Bank pans out.
