While hearing repeated complaints from former WWE Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under during a backstage segment, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis caught Austin Theory's throwaway line: Grayson Waller vs. Kevin Owens.

The match is booked for tonight's episode which will air live from Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Grayson Waller shared a clip from his most recent interview with UFC Hall of Famer Matt Serra, in which the former asks Serra for advice on how to defeat Kevin Owens.

After getting a pep talk from the UFC legend, who called The Aussie Icon an "underdog," Grayson Waller seemed hyped.

Top name doesn't want to enter the WWE Hall of Fame. More details HERE.

"Grayson Waller x Matt Serra Good guys underdogs who like to embarrass overrated Canadians."

Creative has hinted at A-Town Down Under's implosion of late. For weeks, it was Grayson Waller who put Austin Theory through difficult situations, albeit he always found a way to justify his actions.

Perhaps tonight, Theory gets to give Waller a taste of his own medicine, as it was the former United States Champion who inadvertently got this match booked.

Grayson Waller claims Kevin Owens is no longer the man he once was in WWE

In 2015, then NXT Champion Kevin Owens kicked the door down in WWE RAW and went on to have his first main roster feud against John Cena, who was one of the company's biggest stars at the time. Owens' grit got him the monicker of 'The Prizefighter,' something that was questioned recently by Grayson Waller.

Cody Rhodes handpicked the former Universal Champion as his challenger for Bash in Berlin, with the latter initially declining. Taking to X a few days ago, Waller reacted to Kevin Owens completing 10 years in the Stamford-based promotion. He called KO a "simp" for The American Nightmare:

"Huge congrats mate! It’s a shame we don’t get this Kevin Owens anymore. Instead we get you simping for Cody Rhodes and being handed pity title matches #SimpOwensSimp," wrote Grayson Waller.

The Prizefighter has praised John Cena for being "amazing" to him when he joined World Wrestling Entertainment and helping him improve as a performer. With Cena making it clear that after December 2025 he will no longer wrestle, it remains to be seen if Kevin Owens makes the list of opponents The Franchise Player faces in his Retirement Tour.
