WWE is set to make some big shifts in the coming weeks, starting with NXT's debut on the CW network tonight. The promotion is on the road to Bad Blood this Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.
There are several marquee matches planned for NXT's debut on the CW Network tonight. CM Punk will be appearing as the Special Guest Referee for the NXT Championship match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page.
Ahead of tonight's show, WrestleVotes revealed the new logo for NXT, and you can check it out in the post below.
"As first discussed last week on “WrestleVotes Radio” exclusively on @SKWrestling_Backstage Pass—NXT is undergoing a rebranding with tonight’s move to The CW. We’ve received the new logo, and it’s just as we described," WrestleVotes reports.
Roxanne Perez is also set to defend the NXT Women's Championship against Giulia during tonight's show. RAW star The Miz will also be making an appearance tonight to interview North American Champion Oba Femi on Miz TV.
Vince Russo comments on wrestlers failing to become stars when moving from NXT to WWE's main roster
Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently discussed NXT stars not being successful when they are called up to the main roster.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Coach & Bro Show on Backstage Pass, Russo stated that finding a good wrestler is not difficult anymore. He noted that fans want to see characters and storylines, and suggested that both were absent from television at the moment.
"Good wrestlers are a dime a dozen, everybody is a great wrestler today. That means nothing, bro. You know what that means Coach? That means they're all the same. That means nobody sticks out, that means nobody's a star, and that's why bro when all these great wrestler go from NXT to WWE, nobody gets over, bro. Because casual fans bro...the true wrestling fans know this is fake, know this is work, we don't care how good you are at fake fighting bro, we want characters and we want storylines, which don't exist in WWE," Vince Russo said.
Tonight's episode of NXT will air live from Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. It will be interesting to see if the promotion has any surprises planned for WWE's developmental brand's debut on the CW Network later tonight.
