A WWE veteran was all praise for Dusty Rhodes. He even said that Dusty gave him his first job.
Teddy Long was the latest to comment on Dusty Rhodes. Today, Dusty is known as Cody Rhodes' father. He is in fact the guy who helped several of the young stars in NXT, many of whom are now main event stars on the main roster in WWE.
But before he was a coach, Rhodes was one of the most charismatic stars in the world of professional wrestling. He was one of the hottest babyfaces to never win the WWF Championship. Given his charisma and personality, Dusty was Vince McMahon's first choice to be their biggest star by winning the world title. But according to the former WWE CEO in the latest Netflix docuseries, the late superstar passed on the opportunity.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show with Mac Davis, Teddy Long asked why wouldn't anyone want him as their top guy since he was a "genius."

"And why wouldn't you want him. Dusty is a genius. I mean he gave me my first job and I started working right there in the Carolinas when he turned it all around. The Four Horsemen all that stuff man. So, why wouldn't you want a guy with that of knowledge in his age," said Long. [1:15 - 1:35]

Ric Flair claims he and Dusty Rhodes had the greatest rivalry in the history of professional wrestling
During the peak of his career, Dusty Rhodes competed against some of the best in the business. He had several notable feuds with the likes of "Superstar" Billy Graham and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
The American Dream and Ric Flair's rivalry was the topic of discussion on a recent episode of A&E's documentary titled WWE Rivals. Flair took this opportunity to get on his X (Twitter) account and claim that he and Dusty had the greatest rivalry in the history of professional wrestling.
"The Greatest Rivalry In The History Of Professional Wrestling, And They’re Talking About It To This Day And Will Be Forever! WOOOOO," wrote Flair.

It would've been interesting to see the late Dusty Rhodes win the WWF Championship at least once in his legendary career.
