WWE legend Hulk Hogan recently came under scrutiny for alleged racism. The Hulkster's former colleague Vince Russo has now shared his thoughts on the matter.
Influencer Essence Jenai recently claimed that she was fired from Hulk Hogan's beer company because of her race. Jenai noted that she was hired as an ambassador for the veteran's "Real American Beer" but as soon as the latter learned that she's Black, he let her go.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo also shared his two cents on the incident:
"It’s funny bro because, with all the heat that he got with the comments when his daughter was dating that black dude, with all that heat he got, you think he purposely would have a black [indefinite but maybe employee]. You know what I’m saying? That just sounds very very very stupid."
The former WWE head writer also recalled how Hulk Hogan nixed the idea of Da Pope being crowned as TNA Champion back when both Russo and Hogan were part of the same wrestling promotion.
"We all agreed to put the TNA title on the Da Pope [Elijah Burke] and Hogan nixed it. I always went to bat for him. I always said I didn’t think it was a race thing, but to this day, I don’t know why he nixed it. I mean Da Pope had so much freaking charisma. It was his time and we all agreed on it including [Eric] Bischoff and we got the 'That doesn’t work for me brother.' I never said it was a race thing but I never understood why that didn’t work." Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. However, he has been involved in numerous controversies over the years. The Hulkster's representatives have, however, denied the recent accusations.
