After parting ways with WWE, Ricochet's next destination is heavily rumored to be AEW. A veteran recently talked about what was missing in the star's previous runs that can easily be amended in Tony Khan's company to get him heat.

After being written off TV as a victim of Bron Breakker's rage, Ricochet is reportedly on his way to the Jacksonville-based promotion. While his talent in the ring is unquestionable, Vince Russo believes that there is much to be done with his on-screen character which has been practically non-existent so far.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo show, the veteran pitched an idea for the former Intercontinental Champion's storyline in AEW. He stated that Ricochet could turn up at the Jacksonville-based promotion and claim to be better than the entire roster there. Russo felt this would be a sure-shot way for the veteran to generate instant heat.

"You know what would be interesting? You wanna get heat on this guy with the AEW crowd? You really wanna get heat on him? Bro I would have him coming over from the WWE and kinda basically say, 'Ya bro I was in the WWE because I am better than all of you. And the reason why I am here now is 'cause they could no longer afford to pay me.' But really like, really go down the road of he is so much better than all the guys that were never at the WWE," said Russo. [3:32 onwards]

Another veteran has commented on Ricochet leaving WWE for AEW

According to Konnan, Ricochet's decision to possibly jump ship won't result in him becoming a bigger star in any way.

Speaking on his Keepin' it 100 podcast, the veteran explained that the 35-year-old's wrestling style would surely be appreciated in AEW, however, it would not elevate him in any way as a singles star, taking a dig at the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"Bro, I think if they [WWE] would've let him fly, and even though you think they don't want him to get hurt, he would've stood out. He hasn't stood out. He's been there for a long time. He's one of the greatest high-flyers. He'll go to AEW, where they love that indie style, and he'll have great matches, but he won't be a big star because nobody ever is," Konnan said. As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for the high-flyer, and whether he will be able to make a mark in AEW if he does make the rumored move to the Tony Khan-led company.
