A WWE veteran recently talked about his battle with cancer and how he overcame the difficult time. He also gave details of how it all started. The veteran, Sam Houston, is quite a well-known name in the pro wrestling community.

While he is semi-retired and wrestles a limited number of matches in the Independents, Houston has worked in several promotions throughout his career. WWE and WCW have both had him at different times, where he proved to be a commendable star with the power to sway fans.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, Sam Houston talked about how he had first received news of a malevolent tumor. This had later been revealed to be cancer, which progressed to stage 3. He said:

"July the 12th, they removed the lobe. The following week, they called me into the doctor and said, 'Sir, we hate to tell you this, but you started off with Stage 1 Lung Cancer. The drippings around the heart and the esophagus, now it's at stage 2, the beginning of Stage 3. We are gonna recommend radiation and chemotherapy.'" [11:06 onwards]
