WWE star LA Knight is set for a huge challenge against the United States Champion Logan Paul. The two will cross paths at SummerSlam.

It was at last year's SummerSlam that Knight won the Slim Jim 25-man Battle Royal. This win catapulted the Megastar into prominence as he occupied a top spot in the main event picture. He even challenged for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion during Roman Reigns' run as champion. Despite his overwhelming popularity, Knight still does not have championship gold to show for it.

This week on the Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran detailed that Knight needed to win the US Title. After this feud, he felt Logan could go in a different direction with another star. Jim explained that Megastar had been on the losing side of his most high-profile rivalries and needed to win the United States Championship at SummerSlam.

"I think he needs to win this. And if they want Logan Paul to go in a different direction, maybe somebody else can assist him in losing that by clocking him in the head or something. I don't know, but LA Knight needs to come out of this somehow with the belt and at least pinning him, you know, for the thing." [3:25 - 3:47]

Logan Paul attacked LA Knight on SmackDown

During this week's episode of SmackDown, LA Knight was in the night's opening encounter against Santos Escobar.

He managed to get the better of Escobar during the bout and even an interference from Logan Paul could not stop LA Knight from picking up the win. However, the 41-year-old star did not have the opportunity to celebrate the win.

In the aftermath of the encounter, Logan and Santos launched a two-on-one attack on him, sending a strong message to the number one challenger just eight days ahead of SummerSlam.
