Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about a TV executive who often reminded him of Vince McMahon. This TV personality was none other than studio executive Bonnie Hammer.
It was the end of an era this week as WWE aired its final episode of Monday Night RAW on the USA Network. The red brand will be moving to Netflix from next week. During his time with WWE as the head writer, Russo worked closely with the Network executives and shared his experiences of working with some of them.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo recalled working with USA Network executive Bonnie Hammer. He felt she had a very sharp personality and knew how to put on successful TV shows. The former writer mentioned that he used to call her the female Vince McMahon for television production.
"Well, one thing that helped me along, I learned a lot from Bonnie Hammer. Just getting to listen to her, have some conversations with her. She knew so much about television, man. It was great working with her. I used to refer to her as a female Vince McMahon when it came to television man. She knew television, man." [From 2:20 onwards]
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Russo mentioned that the most important lesson he learned from Bonnie was that the same people didn't tune in every week. So the content had to be summarized for new folks watching the program.
During the discussion, the former head writer also spoke about Vince McMahon and how the former WWE Chairman and CEO could return to the business.
