The new Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, and Tama Tonga) hospitalized Paul Heyman on WWE SmackDown last week. Recently, pro wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell shared his two cents on why he believes the segment involving The Wiseman and the Samoan stable was "angle of the year."
With Roman Reigns absent, The Street Champion has stepped up as the leader of the stable. During the "Bloodline Acknowledgment Ceremony" held on the June 28 edition of SmackDown, The Street Champion demanded the rest of the members acknowledge him as the new Tribal Chief. While Fatu and the Tongan brothers recognized Sikoa's leadership, Paul Heyman disagreed.
The former North American Champion showed no mercy to The Wiseman and launched a vicious assault on him. The Samoan Werewolf and the Tongans also put the WWE Hall of Famer through the announcer's table with a Triple Powerbomb.
On a recent episode of the Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the former manager stated that The Bloodline segment was probably the "angle of the year" because WWE pushed Jacob Fatu and got the most out of Paul Heyman in the storyline.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
"They [Bloodline] just beat the living c**p out of him [Paul Heyman]. But that wasn't the end of it. Then they threw him outside, put him through a table. I think Jacob Fatu (...) he's been long awaited too, coming in. So they [WWE] killed two birds with one stone and I think this is probably the angle of the year, the way they tied it all together," Mantell said. [From 16:09 to 16:41]

Dutch Mantell praised Paul Heyman's work on WWE SmackDown
During the same conversation, the former WWE manager claimed that The Wiseman feared for his own safety because he had no protection from the former Big Dog.
Mantell commended Paul Heyman for his commitment to the character. Heyman not only embodied his role perfectly but also took some brutal bumps with impressive resilience for a man of his age.
"So Roman wasn't really there to protect him and Paul did a great job because as long as Roman was there, he ran that mouth and he'd say anything. But now when Roman left, you could see by Paul's indecision and fearfulness that he feared for his safety," he said.
Solo Sikoa and the rest of the heel group members are set to collide with Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Kevin Owens in a Six-Man Tag Team Match at Money in the Bank 2024. It remains to be seen if the interim Head of the Table has a surprise up his sleeve at WWE MITB.
