A wrestling veteran worked with Triple H in WWE for a few years before leaving the promotion. He recently addressed whether he had real-life heat with The Game.
Vince Russo had a seven-year run in the Stamford-based company, where he served as head writer. During his stint, Triple H joined the promotion coming from WCW. They worked together for about three years before the 63-year-old departed WWE.
While Russo has been critical of The Game's work as head of creative since the latter assumed the position following Vince McMahon's initial retirement, some speculated he might have real-life beef with the Chief Content Officer. On the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Russo addressed the same, clarifying that he had no issues with Triple H.
"Where did I say I don't like Triple H. Where did you get me saying that. I didn't say that at all. I had a great working relationship with Triple H. I never had a problem. Now, I shared one email with Triple H, maybe two emails, in the last 25 years. The Triple H I worked with was a great great great guy. I didn't work with Triple H in power. I didn't work with a Triple H who was married to Stephanie. I don't know how that guy is. I don't dislike Triple H at all," he said.
The former WWE head writer explained that his criticism of Triple H's work came from his experience as a writer, stating that The Game did not have the tools to write a successful television show.
"John, I just, I'm coming to you as a writer. He's a great wrestler. He was a great champion. That doesn't mean, bro, that you have the necessary tools to write a successful television show. The show sucks, man. In my opinion, the show stinks. It has nothing to do personally against Triple H. Nothing. Zero," he added. [16:05 - 17:14]

Vince Russo thinks WWE will get rid of Triple H if The Rock returns full-time
While Triple H leads WWE creatively, The Rock is currently a TKO board member. During a recent appearance on The Hannibal TV, Vince Russo claimed The Final Boss possibly returning to WWE in a full-time position would lead to The Game's departure.
The former WWE head writer claimed Triple H would not be needed if The Rock took control of the company, pointing out that the 52-year-old legend has a list of people that he would hire in key positions:
"Rock could work directly with Ari Emanuel. I guarantee you, Rock has a list of people that he would put in place in key positions. And who knows, man, if Rock's movie career does begin to wane a little bit, who knows if Rock decides, you know what, I'm gonna go back and I'm going to run this company? If Rock ever made that decision to become more involved on a daily basis, I don't think there's any need for Triple H at all in that company," he said.
It would be interesting to see Triple H's creative plans in 2025 and whether they will include the return of The Rock.
