Vince McMahon is the talk of the wrestling world ahead of the release of a six-part Netflix docuseries about his life on September 25. Vince Russo, WWE's former head writer, recently recalled what happened when he and McMahon last spoke to each other.
Russo wrote for WWE in the late 1990s when the company regularly drew its highest television ratings. In 2021, he exchanged emails with McMahon after offering to return as a consultant to help increase viewing figures.
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo, Russo said McMahon told him he failed as a WCW writer after leaving WWE:
"Vince's last exchange to me was very ugly. He told me what a loser I was and what a failure I was in WCW, and I laughed at it, but even with that I have no vigor towards the guy." [7:33 – 7:48]

Vince Russo hopes Vince McMahon allegations are not true
In January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon. She alleged he sexually assaulted and trafficked her between 2019 and 2022 before withholding non-disclosure agreement (NDA) payments.
Although Vince Russo has had a strained relationship with McMahon, he hopes his former boss is innocent:
"I mean, that's why I'm saying, bro, for his sake and his family's sake and his kids and his grandchildren, I really hope it's not as bad as it's made out to be for everybody involved. You know what I mean? Sometimes I feel like I should feel more bitter than I am, but I'm not." [7:48 – 8:13]
Russo also gave his thoughts on WWE star Natalya seemingly taking a shot at McMahon's management in a recent interview.
