Former WWE head writer Vince Russo lashed out at Sami Zayn this past week. Zayn was on RAW confronting his adversary Drew McIntyre.
During this week's RAW, Sami Zayn came face-to-face with Drew in the opening segment. He called out Drew for blaming the fans and other stars for not checking up on him during his time away. Zayn went on to say how he stayed away from his family because this was the life he chose for himself.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo criticized Sami for bragging about putting wrestling above his family. He felt it was a bad decision and seemed like Zayn was selfish. The veteran WWE writer also pointed out that people would consider themselves lucky to be with their family during the holidays, but Sami said the opposite on RAW.
"My point is don't boast about choosing wrestling over your family. That's nothing to be proud of bro. Like seriously. You're basically saying I'm a selfish prick and I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I chose to do this and make the decision to be away from my family. If that's your personal decision, that's fine but to be boasting about it? You're one of the lucky ones to be away from your family every week, what's an unlucky one then?" [9:20 onwards]
The confrontation led to a main event match between the two stars. Drew picked up yet another win over Sami Zayn with the Claymore.
McIntyre then initiated a post-match beatdown on his vanquished opponent before the Bloodline 2.0 showed up and laid out Sami and Jey Uso.
