John Cena and Roman Reigns are two of the greatest WWE Superstars of the modern era. However, many have wondered if the two would have been as popular in the famous Attitude Era when there were a multitude of top-level stars. JBL and Gerald Brisco answered the question during our recent chat with them.
John Cena spearheaded WWE after the end of the Attitude Era and led the company to great heights in the Ruthless Aggression Era. Roman Reigns then took over from the Cenation Leader as the face of the company and is currently the biggest name in pro wrestling.
During a Q&A with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Gerald Brisco noted that he sees Cena and Reigns flourishing in any era:
"I get asked this question a lot of times about will this guy make it in this era. Here’s my philosophy on this: if you are a top guy and you’re able to capture your audience at the top, you know what’s going on, you will do well. I think both of those guys, in any other era, could get over because they know how to get over." [From 23:54 to 24:30]

JBL also agreed with the Hall of Famer:
"Brisco is right. It’s hard to get over. It’s hard to get over anywhere. Not many people get over and those guys are really over. I agree, they can get over in any generation. Any." [From 24:32 to 24:43]
Roman Reigns is still going strong in WWE and will wrestle at Bad Blood. John Cena, meanwhile, will soon be returning for his farewell tour and is slated to work through the entirety of 2025.
