Former manager Dutch Mantell has spoken about Solo Sikoa's match on SmackDown. This week, the new Tribal Chief challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The two stars fought tooth and nail in a Steel Cage Match. At times, it looked like Cody could very well lose the gold. However, the champ prevailed against all odds and planted his opponent with a vicious Cross Rhodes for the three-count.
On the latest episode of Smack Talk, Mantell felt it was unnecessary to have Solo Sikoa pinned during the match. He pointed out that the creative team could have opted for another finish that didn't make the new Tribal Chief member look weak.
The wrestling legend reasoned that WWE may have been going for a triumphant ending to Cody's rivalry with Sikoa, but that moment was lost when the Bloodline attacked.
"I think pinning Solo was actually not even necessary. I think they were just looking for a happy ending. Then, of course, it was all taken away when the rest of the Bloodline hit the ring anyway. Just a difference of opinion," Mantell said. [From 13:53 onwards]
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are still unfinished with Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline. The two megastars will form an alliance as they face Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at Bad Blood 2024.
