Cody Rhodes has had a few friends in Stamford-based company since winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40. A wrestling veteran believes he will soon go head-to-head against two of them.
The superstars in question are Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. The Prizefighter challenged The American Nightmare at Bash in Berlin but failed to capture the championship. Although he did not turn on Rhodes, he has been vocal about disliking the latter joining forces with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood against The Bloodline. Meanwhile, Orton also expressed concern about Cody's alliance with the Original Tribal Chief. Many now expect both stars to eventually turn on the Undisputed WWE Champion, including wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English).
On the Rebooked podcast, the current TNA color commentator predicted that Rhodes' friendship with Owens and Orton will "explode" in the upcoming few months, leading to a Triple-Threat Match between the three top superstars:
"Eventually, I don't know if it's he faces each of them individually again, like he already did it with Kevin. I mean, I feel like a match with Randy is on the horizon. But I think, I don't know if it's the Rumble or something like that. I think this friendship explodes in the next few months and we get a three-way somewhere," he said. [From 1:02:44 to 1:03:01]

Will Kevin Owens interfere in Cody Rhodes' match at WWE Bad Blood?
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, former WWE host Matt Camp also discussed Cody Rhodes' relationship with Kevin Owens. He claimed The Prizefighter could interfere in The American Nightmare and Roman Reigns' match against The Bloodline at WWE Bad Blood.
The former RAW Talk host suggested that WWE could continue building the story between Rhodes and Owens by having the latter save his friend and Reigns from an ambush from The Bloodline:
"He could continue to say I'll have your back. And if he has his back, perhaps, Denise, that at Bad Blood next weekend he ends up getting involved in the match. Let's say Cody and Roman win and there's a four-on-two after the fight and Kevin comes out to save them. And he comes out to save Cody but as a result, he also saves Roman. And then he has to deal with that. And then maybe there has to be a conversation between Cody and Kevin of, 'Hey, you were out there. You saved us.' 'No, I saved you. I would never save him.' And you continue to build on that story," he said.
Over the past few weeks, Owens has seemingly dropped teases of a potential heel turn. It would be interesting to see if he will interfere in the tag team match and whether he would help or turn on Rhodes.
