WWE WrestleMania 39 character must return to face Damian Priest, says veteran (Exclusive)

Damian Priest is currently one of the top stars in WWE, which makes it quite possible that he will appear at the next WrestleMania. According to a veteran, he needs to be paired against a character last seen at WrestleMania 39.

Over the last few weeks, Damian has been at odds with the Judgment Day member, Finn Balor. This led to him losing his chance to regain the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series, where he had faced Gunther. An interference from Finn, although not desired by even the Ring General, did prove to be the tipping point in the match and gave Gunther his win.

It is not clear what Damian's plans are. However, Vince Russo believes that WWE needs to start building Finn's alter-ego, Demon Balor, so that he can face off against Damian at the next WrestleMania. The supernatural character last appeared on Night Two of 'Mania 39.

Speaking on Writing with Russo, the former WWE writer stated the following in response to who he would book against Damian Priest:

"I would build the Demon." [1:16 onwards]

The WWE veteran doesn't think much of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh's current run

According to Vince Russo, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh, holding on to their tag team titles at this point doesn't make much sense.

Over the last few weeks, Finn and JD have had a few title defenses as the Tag Team champions. However, Vince Russo stated on Legion of RAW that these defenses are doing nothing for them.

"I don't know why they're keeping the belts on Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. I have no idea why they're keeping the belts on those guys. Those two guys mean absolutely nothing. So, you just beat another tag team in the Vikings."

For now, only time will tell what is next for the two Judgment Day members.
