A wrestling veteran believes WWE might have a problem translating the supernatural character work in the Wyatt 6 storyline into quality matches. He urged the company to avoid that route if they could not find a solution.
The late Bray Wyatt played a supernatural character on WWE TV for multiple years. While the debut of the Wyatt 6 stable is now being teased under the leadership of Wyatt's brother, Bo Dallas, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan worries that the faction would have the same problem he thinks The Fiend had, which is failing to translate his character work in the ring.
On his Gigantic Pop podcast, the former superstar urged the company to take a different route with Wyatt 6 if they have not found a way to avoid the mentioned problem:
"He [Bray Wyatt] made all the stuff out of the ring work. Again, once the bell would ring they give us these weird matches that more times than not, people may not wanna hear this, they were not five-star matches, they were not one-star matches. Him and Braun Strowman in the swamp, The Wyatt Family and New Day copying the Matt Hardy Universe whatever the hell he calls it. That's just two. What about, like, Seth Rollins with the mallet?"
Morgan added:
"I'm not saying this cr*p on Bray. I'm saying it because WWE should not go down that avenue if they've not figured a way on how to translate all that awesomeness that they do with the leadup, the buildup, the hooking of these characters being supernatural and figure a way how do you translate that in the ring," he said. Matt Morgan thinks WWE under Triple H's creative leadership can solve the problem
Since Triple H took total control of the creative process in the Stamford-based company, many WWE Superstars have spoken about how his booking style has been different from Vince McMahon's.
On the Gigantic Pop podcast, Matt Morgan pointed out that he believes Creative, under The Game's leadership, could find a way to translate the supernatural character work into quality matches inside the ring:
"So, what I'm hoping now that Vince's out of the picture is that maybe WWE under Hunter and everybody else can figure a way how to get this done and accomplished where it's not so hokey-looking under the lights, etc, once the bell rings and these talents under the Wyatt 6 start wrestling because at the end of the day, that is going to be the hook at some point in time where people going to be pay money to see on the advertisement poster whoever the hell it is in the Wyatt 6 vs fill in the blank. And to get them there," he said. [From 09:35 to 10:10]
While the company continues to drop QR codes and teases for the debut of The Wyatt 6, analyst Sam Roberts thinks they could debut at King and Queen of the Ring. It would be interesting to see if his prediction comes true.
