WWE Crown Jewel 2024 is officially in the books, and there could be major ramifications coming out of the event. A massive announcement might be made during the upcoming episode of SmackDown.

There is a strong possibility that General Manager Nick Aldis will reveal that WWE legend Randy Orton will be out of action for the remainder of 2024.

The Viper was scheduled to have a grudge match against Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel 2024. However, the match never officially started as the two men brawled in and out of the ring. At one point, they took their fight into the crowd, where Owens dove off a railing, crashing onto Orton through tables.

Orton came out of the incident worse, requiring assistance to leave the arena. It is possible that this dangerous spot aggravated his existing back issues, potentially sidelining him for the time being. This development could allow Owens to shift his focus to Cody Rhodes, setting the stage for their potential feud moving forward.

WWE analyst believes Randy Orton should defeat John Cena in his final match

John Cena is set to return in 2025 for his final run as an in-ring competitor before he hangs up his boots. One of the most anticipated matches during his final run could be against his close friend and long-time rival, Randy Orton.

During a recent episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts explained that John Cena does not need to put over a new talent in his final match. He pointed out that just like Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose, had his final match in the Stamford-based company alongside The Shield, The Chain Gang Soldier should have his final match against his arch-nemesis, Randy Orton. Roberts believes that The Viper is the perfect choice to defeat Cena in his last match:

"The point of this is that over the course of a year, multiple people can beat John Cena. It doesn't just have to be the last match. But the last match, the same way like when Mox [Jon Moxley] left WWE, they did one last match with The Shield altogether. It wasn't about putting somebody else over; it was about The Shield because that's what people wanted. People love John Cena. The last John Cena match is just going to be about saying goodbye to John Cena, and what better way to say goodbye to John Cena than Randy Orton beating him?"
