Nick Aldis will be under pressure on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown. The three-hour show on the USA Network will demand a lot more from the brand’s General Manager.

Cody Rhodes has been one of the top stars on the brand, and Aldis could look to make a major decision regarding the Undisputed WWE Champion. He will also look to add star power to the brand to compete with RAW on Netflix.

Additionally, Nick Aldis could book some major matches and segments for the brand. It would show what the GM is all about.

Take a look at the five things Nick Aldis could do on the upcoming episode of SmackDown.

#5. Shinsuke Nakamura could get his next title defense on WWE SmackDown

Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 wrote a new chapter in Shinsuke Nakamura’s career as he won the United States Championship from LA Knight at the show. Usually heels back away from babyfaces after winning titles from them, but The Artist is different.

It looks like Nakamura still wants to dance with Knight with the title on the line. This week’s episode could make his next title defense official.

Nick Aldis could have Shinsuke Nakamura defend the US Title in the main event of the upcoming episode of SmackDown. Alternatively, fans could see him book the match for the upcoming Royal Rumble PLE.

Nakamura could either face LA Knight in a singles contest, or Andrade could be added to make it a Triple Threat Match. Another loss for Knight could see him move to RAW on Netflix.

#4. Kevin Owens could be handed a sentence for his match against Cody Rhodes

Kevin Owens has forced himself into another Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes. The two SmackDown stars will collide at the Royal Rumble in a Ladder Match.

Nick Aldis has been upset with Kevin Owens’ behavior for quite some time. He could take some action against The Prizefighter in the upcoming SmackDown episode.

The GM could announce that KO would have to leave SmackDown if he loses his match against Cody Rhodes. This could be given as a punishment to Owens for breaking multiple rules in recent months.

Nick’s announcement will add a lot more intrigue to the upcoming match. KO could move to RAW to partner with Drew McIntyre following his loss.

#3. Sami Zayn’s official move

Sami Zayn has been looking to get back at Drew McIntyre and Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline in WWE. He recently went to SmackDown to ask Nick Aldis to allow him to settle the score with Sikoa’s men.

WWE is looking to keep the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief relevant, and that could see him continue a rivalry with Zayn. That could prompt The Underdog from the Underground to move to the blue brand.

RAW’s Netflix move will require many superstars to switch brands. Sami Zayn could move to the blue brand to open up a slot for Roman Reigns or Jimmy Uso to move to RAW.

#2. Nick Aldis to ban Candice LeRae from ringside

Nia Jax and Naomi will compete for the WWE Women’s Championship on Friday night’s SmackDown. Naomi will have a chance to make history by winning the title again while holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Bianca Belair.

Nick Aldis could make a bold move to ensure that the fight between the two top women would be fair. He could ban Nia’s associate Candice LeRae from ringside for the contest.

Tiffany Stratton has been having problems with Nia Jax as she wants to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase soon. Aldis’ bold announcement could have some major implications. Having the 39-year-old star away from ringside could allow Tiffany to cash in her contract after Jax or Naomi wins the contest.

#1. Nick Aldis could make Cody Rhodes stay on WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes is one of WWE’s biggest babyfaces. He has led the brand well since winning the top title.

Nick Aldis will look to retain some star power on SmackDown, so RAW doesn’t get an unfair advantage. That could force the GM to make a major announcement.

Nick Aldis could decide not to let Cody Rhodes switch brands during the transfer window. It would allow him to remain the champion on the brand while Gunther could continue on RAW as the World Heavyweight Champion.

The decision could see Roman Reigns move to RAW instead, while Rhodes could stay on the blue brand to carry it forward. John Cena’s return will give RAW a top babyface, and Aldis could look to retain his brand’s top name.
