We are all set for a massive episode of WWE SmackDown to unfold this week, with all sights set on the biggest storylines ahead of SummerSlam 2024. The upcoming episode of the blue brand was taped last week, and the Stamford-based promotion is currently in Japan for its first tour of the country in five years.

Although the show was taped last week, and spoilers have been all over the internet, WWE could still make a few surprise announcements via Nick Aldis. The SmackDown General Manager may confirm big matches and exciting stipulations throughout the show. This could be backstage videos edited into the episode or through social media as the episode unfolds.

Let's take a look at four announcements Nick Aldis could make on WWE SmackDown this week, especially regarding SummerSlam.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

#1. The Bloodline challenges for the WWE Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam 2024

The upcoming episode of SmackDown will feature a massive Gauntlet Match, in which the Street Profits, Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews, The Good Brothers, Pretty Deadly, Legado Del Fantasma, and The Bloodline will compete for a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship, which DIY currently holds on the blue brand.

The Bloodline, consisting of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa, will now challenge Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano for the tag team gold. The heel faction has been on a rampage as was evident from their vicious beatdown of Kevin Owens recently.

Nick Aldis could announce The Bloodline vs. DIY for SummerSlam next weekend after the Gauntlet Match on SmackDown this week.

#2. Tiffany Stratton could get banned from ringside during a title match

The upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown will see Tiffany Stratton join forces with Nia Jax to take on Women's Champion Bayley and her newfound ally, Mia Yim. The match will end with the reigning Queen of the Ring and Miss Money in the Bank picking up a shock victory. However, Stratton would see her briefcase get destroyed at ringside by Bayley, and she would be spotted using a taped-up Money in the Bank briefcase.

The Role Model is set to put her WWE Women's Championship on the line against Nia Jax at SummerSlam. Following their upcoming match on this week's show, Nick Aldis may ban Tiffany Stratton from ringside when Jax takes on Bayley at The Biggest Party of The Summer. WWE could pull off this move to add to the anticipation surrounding a potential cash-in, especially considering Stratton's alliance with Nia.

#3. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill get a shot at reclaiming the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill lost the Women's Tag Team Championship at Clash at the Castle 2024. The former champions have been desperate to get their hands on the title again and they also put current champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre on notice recently.

Triple H could book their title match on the go-home episode of SmackDown before SummerSlam. Belair and Cargill are arguably two of the most dominant superstars on the blue brand and they put their in-ring prowess on its finest display when they defeated Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. Nick Aldis could book this match for SmackDown next week, giving us a potential title change before The Biggest Party of The Summer.

#4. Bold stipulation to be added to Logan Paul's title match at SummerSlam 2024

After weeks of escaping LA Knight, Logan Paul now has no option but to defend his United States Championship against the fastest-rising star of WWE. Knight brought the match contract and insisted that their title bout be booked, to which Paul reluctantly agreed. The upcoming episode of SmackDown will see the two getting involved in an altercation after Knight takes on Santos Escobar in a singles match.

Considering the controversy surrounding Paul and his old habits of using outside interference to win matches, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis could decide to take away the Maverick's advantage. He could announce a shocking stipulation for their United States Championship match at SummerSlam, per which Paul would lose his title even if he loses the match via count-out. Aldis could make things worse for Logan Paul by confirming that a potential DQ would also cause the champion to lose, putting the Maverick's entourage in cuffs.
