Nick Aldis usually has an easier time dealing with the WWE Superstars on the SmackDown brand than his RAW counterpart, Adam Pearce. However, a top star recently crossed a boundary because of which Aldis could take him off programming till the 2025 Royal Rumble. Here’s why the blue brand GM would take such a step against Kevin Owens.

The Prizefighter stole the Winged Eagle Title after neutralizing Cody Rhodes with a Package Piledriver on the December 14, 2024, episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event. KO even started calling himself the real champion and forcefully entered the kickoff for RAW’s Netflix transition while posing with the belt.

Last week, Nick Aldis gave Kevin Owens an ultimatum to return the Winged Eagle title by the end of the episode. However, when he was about to surrender the belt, Cody Rhodes said that KO should keep it. The American Nightmare even demanded that the Winged Eagle Title should be put on the line with the Undisputed WWE Championship in a ladder match at the 2025 Royal Rumble.

Although Rhodes seems to have exempted or forgiven The Prizefighter, he is at his angriest with KO. Thus, to prevent any brawls from breaking out ahead of the Rumble, Nick Aldis could make Owens stay away from SmackDown until the day of the PLE arrives. While this is a significant possibility, all of this is speculation.

Nick Aldis could be replaced as the WWE SmackDown General Manager

As RAW moves to Netflix, the brand’s resident commentator, Wade Barrett, will vacate his spot. WWE has appointed Michael Cole and Pat McAfee as the official commentators for the Monday Night Show’s era on the streaming giant. While this takes Barrett away from the red-branded show, he could replace Nick Aldis as SmackDown’s General Manager.

Aldis is a terrific wrestler in the ring and is a former five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Moreover, his most successful reign with the title lasted for an astonishing 1043 days. One of his title reigns was ended by Cody Rhodes at 2018’s ALL IN.

WWE could put Nick Aldis back in the ring and make him the next title challenger for The American Nightmare after Kevin Owens. Therefore, Wade Barrett, who is a former five-time Intercontinental Champion, could replace him as the new General Manager for SmackDown.

It would be interesting to see what lies in the future for Aldis.
