What's the story?
The Bullet Club is one of wrestling's most dominant and popular factions, but there seems to be a divide forming between its members. This was further exacerbated at New Years Dash when Cody Rhodes and company attempted to brutally attack Kota Ibushi, but fellow Bullet Club member and leader Kenny Omega shockingly made the save.
In case you didn't know...
Cody Rhodes and Kota Ibushi had clashed the previous day at Wrestle Kingdom 12, with Ibushi picking up the win despite the best efforts of several inferences from Brandi Rhodes, and this disgusting looking Cross Rhodes from Cody.
The heart of the matter
Following his loss at Wrestle Kingdom 12 Rhodes was naturally out for a modicum of revenge and took the opportunity after his match at News Years Dash to teach Ibushi a lesson. But, just as he's about to level Ibushi with a chair Kenny Omega storms to the ring and gets and throws the chair away before Rhodes and Omega get in each others faces.
This seems to be in keeping with a slow-build storyline that has been developing with tension forming between the original hardline members of the Bullet Club and 'The Elite' mini-faction of the club consisting of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
What's next?
Judging from the events of New Years Dash, Cody Rhodes still has unfinished business with Ibushi, and Kenny Omega looks set to be starting a feud with the recently returned 'Switchblade' Jay White, who seems to have a ton of potential despite his underwhelming Wrestle Kingdom 12 match.
Author's take
Bullet Club infighting has been a thing for just about as long as the Bullet Club has existed, current leader Kenny Omega even dethroned AJ Styles two years ago to take over, so he surely must be expecting hostilities towards him now he's at the top.
