Chris Jericho has challenged Kenny Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12. The two have been feuding on Twitter recently, with many assuming that the Winnipeg natives were slowly building towards a match on Jericho's 2018 Cruise of Jericho.
Kenny Omega defended the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship at Power Struggle in a hard-fought match against Beretta, before daring anyone to come out and challenge him for the championship. There were no takers, however, leaving Omega and The Young Bucks disappointed in the ring.

As "The Cleaner" went to leave, the lights in the arena went out. A video began playing on the big screen, seemingly revealing the identity of Omega's next challenger. The Osaka crowd popped huge when the challenger was revealed to be none other than Y2J himself, Chris Jericho.

Jericho told Omega that he wasn't the best wrestler in the world, an honour that Jericho believes still belongs to him. Jericho referred to himself as the 'Alpha' of professional wrestling, before proposing a match between the Alpha and the Omega of the sport.

Many fans expected Kota Ibushi and Omega to finally go one-on-one at WK12, but New Japan has somehow pulled off a major coup here. This is one of the biggest dream matches in professional wrestling right now, and it will take place on January 4 in the Tokyo Dome.
