What’s the story?
Earlier today, Bullet Club’s Kenny Omega was questioned on Twitter regarding the current leadership status of the Bullet Club and if Cody Rhodes has indeed surpassed Omega as the leader of the faction.
In case you didn’t know…
At NJPW’s latest New Beginning in Sapporo show, Cody Rhodes finally betrayed Kenny Omega, when he hit the former IWGP US Champion with a Cross Rhodes and further proceeded to attack Omega along with Hangman Page, before Omega’s former tag team partner Kota Ibushi stepped in to make the save for Kenny Omega and thus reuniting the Golden Lovers in the process, leaving the status of the Bullet Club’s leadership in question.
The heart of the matter
At ROH: Supercard of Honor XII, Cody Rhodes earned one of the biggest wins of his entire Professional Wrestling career when “The American Nightmare” pulled-off a huge upset win over Kenny Omega, following interference from Matt and Nick Jackson—The Young Bucks.
Following Cody’s win over Omega, the former Ring of Honor World Champion has taken it to the social media in recent weeks in order to officially claim that he is indeed the new leader of the Bullet Club. However, Twitter user @ddlsora recently asked Kenny Omega on social media if Cody has indeed taken over the leadership position in the Bullet Club or not, to which Omega responded by saying “of course not”.
What’s next?
Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes will next cross paths at the on-going NJPW: Wrestling Dontaku tour, when Omega teams up with his fellow Golden Lover, Kota Ibushi and the rest of the Bullet Club—in the likes of Tama Tonga, Bad Luck Fale, and Tanga Loa.
Whereas, Team Cody will consist of the likes of Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, and The Young Bucks, as the two Bullet Club teams set to go toe-to-toe in a mega 10-man tag team match.
Authors’ Take
Personally, I hope that despite all the dissension within the Bullet Club, Kenny Omega stays the rightful leader of the group and brings back unity within the BC once again.
