What’s the story?
As you may have heard, Bullet Club member Cody Rhodes has announced that the 'classic' Bullet Club logo will be retired and replaced with a new one. Kenny Omega has responded to the news.
In case you didn’t know…
The Bullet Club logo has been the same ever since the group first formed five years ago in May, 2013. The logo was designed by original members Finn Bálor, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga.
The Bullet Club has found a lot of mainstream success, with a lot of it due in part to the original logo. Bullet Club merchandise can be found in successful chains such as Hot Topic and has remained the hottest selling wrestling merchandise in the world over the last five years.
Many in the wrestling business have even released their own variations on the design.
The heart of the matter
Cody Tweeted about the changes earlier today and his current rival Kenny Omega has been quick to respond. Kenny's response was in storyline fashion, saying:
''Um...A new logo...?! Everyone please have patience, this guy is on borrowed time and will be dealt with.''
What’s next?
The power struggle within the Bullet Club continues as Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega will go one-on-one for the first time ever at the Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor show in New Orleans, next Saturday, April 7th.
Cody will unveil the new Bullet Club logo sometime next week.
Author’s take
It's not uncommon for big logo changes in wrestling, I mean how many times has the WWE logo been changed now?
It is a little unusual for factions like the Bullet Club to change logos, but today they are their own dynasty. Knowing how creative these guys are, the logo will probably be pretty cool, but despite that, most will still likely prefer the original.
