According to a report from WrestlingNewsSource, New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 11 is rumoured to air in the United States. According to their top sources — an announcement concerning this live broadcast is expected to be made next week.
Also, WWE Hall of Famer and NJPW's English commentator Jim Ross tweeted out a message, teasing something huge to be announced and also mentioned AXS TV in that message. However, it could also mean that Ross is tweeting about the pre-taped television broadcast of the event rather than the live PPV.
Previously in 2015, Ross called Wrestle Kingdom 9 with Lucha Underground commentator Matt Striker, when Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling partnered up with NJPW.
For this year's Wrestle Kingdom, Ring of Honor's Steve Corino and Kevin Kelly will be responsible for providing the English language commentary.
Along with Ross, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has also hinted at a possible PPV deal and an announcement concerning it, next week. Wrestle Kingdom is one of NJPW's premier events and is more or less equal to WWE's WrestleMania.
This year's G1 Climax winner Kenny Omega will be facing Kazuchika Okada for Okada's IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event. Former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes is scheduled to make his NJPW debut against Juice Robinson. Also, Rhodes has confirmed that he'll now be a member of The Bullet Club — NJPW's biggest heel faction. ROH World Champion Kyle o'Reily after winning the title at Final Battle will now defend it against former ROH World Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole in a singles match.
Wrestle Kingdom has been going on since 1992, with the current edition scheduled to take place at on January 4, 2017, in Tokyo, Japan at the Tokyo Dome.
