What's the story?
During a recent interview with Puroresu Today, current IWGP US Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega revealed that he would like to face off against former WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio in singles competition, sometime in the near future.
In case you didn't know...
Kenny Omega won the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship last year during the G1 Specials in the US at Long Beach, and in doing so Omega also became the inaugural IWGP US Champion.

Ever since winning the US Title, Omega has defended his belt against the likes of Trent Beretta, Juice Robinson, and most importantly against Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12, in one of the most historic matches in NJPW history.
The heart of the matter
While speaking with Puroresu Today, Omega stated that there are many top contenders in NJPW against whom he wants to square off against, however, The Cleaner claimed that there is a big wide world out there which is filled with some of the best wrestling talents.
Additionally, Omega said that he might face someone from WWE next or maybe someone of that caliber such as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio.
What's next?
As for Kenny Omega, his next US Title defense will be at the on-going NJPW: New Beginning tour against 'Switchblade' Jay White. After successfully defending the US Title against Chris Jericho earlier in the year, Omega will now look to retain his belt against White.
Author's Take
A match between Kenny Omega and Rey Mysterio will definitely be once in a lifetime and I believe this match can take place at Cody Rhodes and Young Bucks' self-financed supershow All In later this year.
