Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and CM Punk are arguably among the top babyfaces presently in WWE. However, it might come as a surprise to many that in France, Baron Corbin is seemingly the biggest babyface.
This was evident during the company's last house shows in France. Despite being a villainous star, Corbin received a massive pop from the live crowd. Even after the announcement that Backlash is set to take place in Lyon, France, many fans speculated that Corbin would appear on the show.
Not only that but during an appearance on an episode of WWE's Bump, Corbin also expressed his desire to be part of Backlash 2024.
For those unaware, Backlash 2024 is set to take place on Saturday, May 4, in the French Republic at the LDLC Arena. As of writing, there is no such news regarding The Lone Wolf's participation in this international PLE.
Despite this, it will be interesting to see whether the company will book Baron Corbin in any capacity for Backlash 2024. There is a possibility of that happening now that he is drafted to SmackDown.
Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and more will have high-profile matches in the French PLE
We are just a week away from Backlash 2024, and the company has already announced some significant matches for the PLE. As of now, the Stamford-based promotion has confirmed a total of five matches for this event. This incorporates an Undisputed WWE Championship match where Cody Rhodes is slated to defend his title against AJ Styles.
In addition, Bayley is also scheduled to defend her Women's Championship against Tiffany Stratton and Naomi in a triple-threat showdown. Besides this, Damian Priest will put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line when he faces Jey Uso. Not only that, but The Bloodline will also be involved in a tag team bout as they will face Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.
The Kabuki Warriors will also put their titles on the line against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair in a tag team match.
Overall, it will be intriguing to see what happens in France when Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, and others square off in their high-profile matches.
