What’s the story?
After the latest episode of NXT was done taping, SAnitY had unfinished business with Roderick Strong, as they assaulted him after his battle against Hideo Itami.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Roderick Strong has been involved in a feud with SAnitY since earlier this year. He took part in a 4-person tag team match at NXT Takeover: Orlando, teaming up with Tye Dillinger, Kassius Ohno and Ruby Riot to take on the faction. However, they were unsuccessful against SAnitY.
Strong didn’t have much momentum going for him in NXT but in the previous two episodes of NXT, a two-part video was aired about Roderick Strong and his personal life, struggle and story before becoming an NXT superstar. This was met with a great response, and opened the eyes of many fans to who Roderick Strong really is.
The former Mr ROH was in a match against Hideo Itami to determine the Number One contender to the NXT Championship. After an incredible bout between the two competitors, it was Itami who was ultimately victorious. He will go on to face Bobby Roode at NXT Takeover: Chicago in the main event.
The heart of the matter
Roderick Strong was ambushed by SAnitY after the match. He received a huge ovation from the crowd for his performance, but when he tried to fight them off, the numbers game proved to be too strong.
After the attack, a distraught Roddy was met by General Manager William Regal. He told Regal that he “wanted SAnitY”. This seems to imply a Takeover match, perhaps against the leader of SAnitY, Eric Young. That match has the potential to be the low-key match of the night.
What’s next?
Roderick Strong seems to have some match set up for NXT Takeover: Chicago. We will find out next week what the plans are for the former ROH World Champion.
Author’s Take
Now that Tye Dillinger is up on the main roster, it’s time for Roderick Strong to start with “Roddy against the world”. He has a world of potential and can be a huge player in NXT and WWE going forward.
Hopefully, Roddy becomes one of the mainstays of NXT for a couple of years before coming up to the main roster. He vs Eric Young would be an interesting match, as long as he goes over at the end.
