Kassius Ohno vs Johnny Gargano - #1 contenders tournament

Johnny Gargano was the surprise opponent, replacing Velveteen Dream. The ambience to start this match was incredible. The crowd was split right down the middle. Ohno started the match by throwing Gargano away with ease.
Some nice chain wrestling followed this and the two men then showed off some impressive athleticism when evading each other's moves. Gargano's slingshot spear was caught by Ohno and he was sent outside the ring by his signature elbow.
Ohno hit Gargano's chest with a vicious slap and early attempts by Gargano were met failure. All his shots up till then were weak but a kick and hurricanrana followed by a step-up enziguri put Gargano back in control. He finally landed the slingshot spear on Ohno.
A beautiful reverse sequence saw Ohno hit a brutal-looking senton onto the underdog Gargano. Ohno failed a tope-suicida attempt and Gargano hit a suicide dive into a DDT on the steel entrance. This was met with loud "NXT" chants by the audience.
A step-up enziguri by Gargano followed with a cyclone kick by Ohno. The ever-spirited Johnny Wrestling refused to give up, kicking out at 2. The crowd broke into dual chants for the two competitors.
Ohno got Gargano up for the electric chair but Gargano nearly went for a victory-roll, albeit unsuccessfully. Ohno hit a series of strikes and kicks on Gargano but Johnny Wrestling shockingly kicked out, to a huge pop from the crowd.
Ohno's rolling elbows were met with kicks to the knees and the face. A Hurricanrana transitioned into a Garga-No-Escape and he made the submission specialist tap out in an absolute classic. What a match.

Gargano now joins Killian Dain in the Fatal-4-Way match.
