Matt Riddle made his long overdue debut on NXT TV against Luke Menzie, who seemingly wasn't prepared for the challenge of the former UFC star. The men jockeyed for positions in the opening exchanges before a test of strength saw Riddle attempt a submission, but Menzies turned it into a pin.
Riddle delivered a number of hard kicks but was grounded by a double arm suplex but Riddle managed to gain the advantage with a back kick followed by a Senton. A knee strike followed by a number of elbows to the side of the head left many of the WWE Universe wondering if Menzies was out cold, but the end came when he locked in the Bromission and Menzies was forced to tap.
Matt Riddle has officially arrived and even though many stars expected this to be a squash match, Menzies was able to get some of his offense in and impressed despite losing.
